Eligibility

Our riding sessions are designed for individuals of all abilities who can benefit from horse-assisted experiences. While our program has historically served children, we now welcome a limited number of teen and adult riders as space and horse suitability allow.

Riders must be physically able to ride independently or with support from sidewalkers, based on safety and horse size. We are happy to discuss whether our program is the right fit for your family.

How to Get Started

To begin, please contact us to talk through your rider’s needs and schedule an introductory visit to the farm. During this visit, we’ll help your rider get acquainted with the horses and determine whether our program is a good match. If so, we’ll guide you through the next steps of enrollment and scheduling.

Volunteer Opportunities

Not looking to ride, but still want to get involved? Adults and teens 13+ are invited to volunteer! From assisting during classes to helping with barn chores or special events, there's a place for you here. No horse experience? No problem — we provide all the training you'll need. Visit our Volunteer Page to learn more and sign up.

What to Expect

Our sessions are tailored to each rider’s needs, with a focus on building skills, confidence, and connection. Riders spend time bonding with their horse through grooming and groundwork before and after their ride, with 30–45 minutes typically spent in the saddle.

We strive to create a supportive, encouraging environment where every rider feels seen and valued.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What ages are eligible for the program?
A: We primarily serve children and teens, but are happy to consider adult riders on a case-by-case basis depending on horse availability and rider needs.

Q: Do participants need prior horse experience?
A: Not at all. Most of our riders start with no horse background, and we’ll walk with them every step of the way.

Q: Do you offer licensed therapy or counseling services?
A: No — we are not a licensed therapy provider. Our sessions are therapeutic in nature, but they are not facilitated by licensed mental health or occupational therapy professionals. We focus on adaptive riding experiences that foster confidence, connection, and personal growth.

Q: What is the cost of the program?
A: Our current fee is $50 per 1-hour session. While we are not able to accept insurance, we are an approved provider through Indiana’s Education Scholarship Account (ESA) program. ESA funds can be used to pay for sessions. We also offer financial assistance for qualifying families — please reach out to discuss available options.
