2026 Winter Programs
For the first time ever, we are excited to offer winter programs at Robinson’s Equine Therapy while mounted riding takes a seasonal break. These unmounted, hands-on opportunities allow riders and families to stay connected with the horses they love throughout January and February.
Because this is our first winter program season, we are learning right alongside our riders and volunteers. We appreciate your grace and flexibility as we try something new and grow together.
Winter programs run on Saturdays from January 10 through February 28, 2026.

Winter Horsemanship (Ages ~9+)
8-Week Program
Our Winter Horsemanship Program is an unmounted, educational series designed for riders who want to deepen their understanding of horse care, safety, and communication beyond the saddle. Each class combines instruction with hands-on learning in the barn.
Dates: Saturdays, January 10–February 28 (8 weeks)
Time: 11:00 AM–12:30 PM
Cost: $200 for the full 8-week session
Capacity: Limited to 12 riders
Instructors: Megan (most weeks) and Caleb (February 7 & February 28)
Weekly topics include horse safety and body language, tack basics and catching a horse, grooming tools and hoof care, basic anatomy, colors and markings, breeds, disciplines and uses of horses, and first aid and equine health. The program includes a special guest presentation from Dr. Bass, PhD in Equine Reproduction at Purdue, and concludes with a graduation day where families are invited to attend.
This is a non-riding program focused on learning, safety, and confidence around horses.
Barn Buddies (Ages ~3–12)
Barn Buddies is a gentle, confidence-building winter option for younger riders and new horse lovers. These sessions provide hands-on horse time in a calm and supportive environment.
Dates: Saturdays, January 10–February 28
Time: 10:00–11:00 AM
Cost: $25 per session
Capacity: Limited to 6 children per week
Each Barn Buddies session may include meeting and brushing the horses, feeding treats, bonding time, and leading a horse with support. Some weeks may also include simple themed activities, though activities will vary. Families may register for individual weeks or choose to reserve the same weekly spot for the entire winter session, based on availability.
